Busy Weekend!

Well, we had a pretty jam-packed weekend, especially Saturday, so here are some of the highlights.
  • I went with my awesome friend Driel to the Williams-Sonoma chocolate class where we enjoyed tasting chocolate-dipped strawberries, chocolate-filled croissants, and just plain chocolate! And, it was all free! No complaints.
  • We watched President Hinckley's funeral with Chelsea and Talon. Talon, our 18 month old nephew, did the cutest thing during the funeral. During the closing hymn, there were film clips of President Hinckley. Talon just stood in front of the tv, and waved goodbye to our beloved prophet. It made me cry!
  • Kyle was begging me to go to Utah Lake because we braved walking on the frozen lake last year. Plus, he can't stand being cooped up inside all day. I agreed it was a nice day, so we decided to go. This time there was about 4 inches of snow on top of the ice, but we were having fun taking pictures and walking around. I started to play in the snow, and unbeknownst to me, Kyle had frolicked off to a random island about 100 yards away. So, I'm playing, and all of the sudden I hear a huge scream. I turn to see my poor husband swimming in the lake! Kyle kind of hurt his wrist, but he seemed to be more concerned about our car keys and our camera that got completely submerged in the lake! I was worried, but at the same time I just had to laugh because only Kyle would be so adventurous and find the thinnest part of the ice. And, Kyle has been wanting a new camera for a while, so I think he was secretly wanting it to be ruined. Well, needless to say, Kyle was numb and wet from his belly button down! He managed to get onto the island okay, but he couldn't get back to the car. So, he lobs the keys, and they make it about half way, so I have to walk out even farther to get the keys. Kyle ended up having to walk over a mile to get back to safe land. Poor kid! (We'll have to post some pictures when we get our Internet situation figured out.)
  • Kyle got some new clothes for his birthday, but some of them didn't fit, so we got to exchange them, and he was very excited! Kyle is still amazed that they don't make clothes that fit him very well. Obviously regular sizes are too short on him, but then they have the Big & Tall section, which would fit in length, but not in the waist. Also, some stores have a tall option, but it only adds an inch or two, which is still too short, because they consider "tall" to be between 6'0" and 6' 2".
  • We went to the men's volleyball game, which ended up going into 5 games! It was pretty intense, but we knew we would come out on top.
  • This morning I had my 24 week appointment, and everything is measuring great! The baby likes to be active and kick me a lot, but she also enjoys her beauty rest. Kyle really likes when he can see my belly bulge out when she makes big movements.

Well, that's about all for now. Except I am getting VERY sick of this snow. Kyle and I have officially vowed that this will be our last winter in Utah. This morning it took me 20 minutes to scrape off my car. Inconceivable!

That is hilarious about Kyle falling into the lake!
