On June 2, 2010 at 12:12 pm, our first beautiful miracle, otherwise known as "Baby Sassy" and Kelsey entered into our lives.
I'm sad to say this day was a little bit miserable, so luckily Kelsey doesn't quite get that it was really her birthday because we celebrated over the weekend too. First, we had to spend 2 hours at the doctor's office. Let's just say I was seriously panicking yesterday morning before we had to go because Kelsey LOATHES the doctor! When I took Miley in for her 2 week appointment, Kelsey was screaming bloody murder because she thought it was for her, no matter how many times I told her we were there for Miley. I remember at Kelsey's 18 month appointment I was so embarrassed to have a crazy screaming child--not like, oh, I'm sad because I just had to get shots screaming, but even worse--Kelsey did NOT want anything to do with getting her height and weight measured! She actually did much better for the shots! Well, to my surprise, Kelsey did great! Was she smiling and completely ecstatic about being there? No, we're not quite there yet, but she was calm and amazing the entire time! She even had to get blood drawn, and she just kept crying "owie, owie", but that was to be expected.
After the doctor, we were supposed to go to the park, but the appointment just took to long, and I had been feeling sick all morning. So, we came home, and I felt awful. I had no appetite because I felt sick to my stomach, and I knew I was running a fever because I was getting the shivers! I took my temperature to confirm, but of course I didn't have any medicine on hand, so I was just trying to lay in bed to get some rest. I woke up feeling much better, but not 100% because I had only eaten a banana the whole day. I still didn't have much of an appetite, but managed to eat some saltine crackers--yum! We were supposed to leave for Disneyland at 5:30, but I got a text from Kyle saying he was going to be late. I was extremely perturbed! I didn't want to stay at Disneyland long, and now our whole schedule was off! I just left with the girls hoping for the best. Kyle finally got there after 7, and we got to do some of Kelsey's favorites--Carousel, Buzz, and Tiki Room! We even got to watch a parade and see Donald Duck, Woody, Goofy, Tigger, Pooh, Mickey, and Minnie! Thankfully, I didn't feel as guilty about the rest of the day because Kelsey was able to have so much fun at Disneyland!
Kelsey's 2 Year Stats:
34 inches tall
27 pounds
50th percentile
