Today is Kelsey's 1/2 Birthday! She actually got very excited and loved telling people that now she is 2 1/2 and that it was her birthday today! I like to think of it as we've made it halfway through the Terrible 2's! I'm not gonna lie, there really are some pretty terrible moments of tantrums and whining, but overall Kelsey is actually pretty terrific!
Kelsey is a really good helper when we go shopping. She loves to help put everything on the conveyor belt or hand things to the cashier. And, she always likes to swipe the card and "draw" (ie, sign for the purchase.) But, my little shopping enthusiast also ends up putting "extras" in our cart. For example, we made a big Target run today and she was excited when she found some Buzz cups, so she grabbed all of them (I think there were 6), and put them in the cart. I thought it was cute however, as she put each one in, she was telling me who they were for. "This one's for Max. This one's for Evie. Talon wants this one!" I mean seriously, it was pretty darn cute. Then, she did the same thing with a bunch of Christmas plates, and she managed to grab some toothpaste and purses too. I think I spent as much time putting things back as I did getting the things I really needed. Oh, the joys of toddlerhood!
Kelsey is a great big sister! Kelsey is always concerned for Miley. She is the first one to run to Miley's room when she hears her wake up. If I try and get there first she runs full speed ahead and yells, "No, I'm gonna get him, I'm gonna get him!" (She calls everyone "him", so don't be offended . . . we are working on it!) Kelsey turns on the light and rushes over to Miley's crib and starts tickling her through the rails.
Kelsey has an impeccable memory! It always cracks me up when I tell her she can do something after a certain time frame, and she remembers to a "T"! Here is a typical scenario:
Kelsey at 10 am- "Mommy, Mommy, I want a cookie."
Mom at 10:01 am-"We are saving the cookies for when the boys come over tonight."
Kelsey at 6:30 pm- "Daddy, Daddy, the boys are coming over and have cookies!"
Kelsey at 7:00 pm- "The boys are here, I go get the cookies!"
We celebrated tonight by going to Disneyland as a family, and we had a blast! The weather was nice, it wasn't too crowded, and we got to see fireworks! What more could a 2 1/2 year old ask for on her 1/2 birthday? Well, she got to pick out a new ornament since we currently have about six on our tree!

So awesome! Is that your guys' Christmas card? Are you gonna send me one or should I just print this out? And the story about the Buzz cups is precious! And I love that of all things she chooses toothpaste and purses. hahahaha. I miss you all terribly!
