My Little Munchkin!

Kelsey turned the big 18 months yesterday, and this was a hard realization for her Mommy to accept. I honestly cannot believe how grown up she is. Kelsey is my little lady. Here are some things I love about Kelsey.

1. She is such a good helper. She loves to take things to the trash for us! (And so far, we haven't noticed anything in the trash that wasn't supposed to be there!) She also helps to sweep the floor by getting the dust pan without me even asking! Then she likes to take the dust pan to the trash for me. (Sometimes some of it falls out though on the way!) She also brings me my phone whenever she hears it ring. What a sweetheart!

2. She loves to talk! This girl is a talk-a-holic, and she has a pretty extensive vocabulary. Some of her favorite words are "happy", "shoe", "yeah yeah", "hi", "buh bye", "trash", "uh-oh", "pease" (for please), "hot dog", "nana", "apple", "up", "down", "airplane", "star", "moon", "me", "fish", "Jesus", "owie", "poo poo", "woah woah", "ball", "boon" (for balloon), "wee" (when she's swinging) "open", "baby", "beep beep", "hmmmm" "home", "more", "all done", "pretty", "bubble", "bath", "Minnie" (for Mickey and Minnie Mouse), "Pooh" (for Winnie the Pooh), all animal sounds including monkeys, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, owls, cows, snakes, and she loves saying all of her body parts including "eyes", "nose", "head", "elbow", "knee", "button", "ankle", "teeth", and she points to shoulder, chin, toes, and fingers. She also calls Santa "Ho Ho". Her phrases include "hi mama", "bye dada", "my dada",(hi, bye, and my can be followed by anyone's name or object she knows) "up pease", "dat way", "out pease", "help pease", "oh wow!" She is really good at saying prayers. She just mimics what we say. And at the end she says "Mmmmaaa!" for Amen. And of course, she LOVES to say "no!"

3. She calls Kyle and I "Hun!" She also calls us Mama and Dada, but when she really wants our attention, she moans "hunnnnnn" over and over!

4. She loves animals! (Well, not really up close and in her face though, that's still scary!) She loves playing with animals though, or reading about them in books. And she loves to make all the animal noises.

5. She loves babies! Anytime Kelsey sees a baby, she is in heaven. And she loves to help babies and her friends by making sure they have their cups, even if they aren't thirsty. If a baby is sad, she brings it a toy. Hopefully she still loves babies in 3 1/2 months when her baby sister arrives!

6. She loves music! Kelsey loves to dance and sing songs. She loves doing the motions to "Wheels on the Bus", "Book of Mormon Stories", "Sunbeam", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Ring Around the Rosie", and "Zoom Zoom". I just ask her what song she wants to sing, and she starts doing the motion for it.

7. Kelsey loves to read! She is constantly reading books on her own and doing puzzles. She also loves to come snuggle up in your lap and read a book too!

8. She loves her family! Kelsey knows how to say almost all of her cousins, aunts, uncles, and even friends names! She loves to give kisses and talk about her family ALL the time!

9. She LOVES being chased! Kelsey is so giddy when anybody will chase her around. She thinks it is the funnest game ever!

10. Kelsey also loves to draw! It is fun to make little cards and have her color them and put stickers on them all by herself. I am grateful I invested in the washable crayons though!

Kelsey after eating some refried beans, I mean, making her own body paint!

Kelsey LOVES her new nativity set from her Great Aunt Julie.

Kelsey was the most adorable little puppy for Halloween! She was a little apprehensive of the whole Trick-or-Treating thing at first, but by then end of the night she loved knocking on all the doors and picking out her own candy!

Kelsey only occasionally gets into mischief. (By occasionally, I mean, about once per day.) Here she is after dumping a bucket of water on herself!

Kelsey loves playing with balls. She even knows how to catch them, and she gets so excited when she does!

Kelsey reading a book with Ree Ree!

I know every parent is proud of his or her child, and I can't express how much I am so pleased with the young lady Kelsey is becoming! She is so smart (sometimes too smart already) and brings so much joy and laughter to our family! She has her moments where I wonder what I got myself into, but truly, the vast majority of the time, she is just a delight to be around! We love her so much and can't believe she is already 18 months old! Stats are as follows: Height: 32" Weight: 24 pounds. Doctor says she passes with flying colors because she's very smart! :) That makes a Mommy proud!

Seriously, where does the time go? Kelsey is so cute, and so smart! I wish we could be closer so we could get to know her better. And I still can't believe you're pregnant again! We need some belly pictures since we can't see you in person! Hope things are going well!
