I've never been one to be very superstitious . . . until last night! Our sweet little Kelsey was an angel all day yesterday. She had lots of good awake time, fed well, and took some good naps. Then when we came to go to bed, our luck went sour and poor Kelsey did not have a good night. (Which means we got absolutely no sleep!) She was very very fussy the entire night. She stayed awake and alert the entire night. She was screaming bloody murder, and nothing we did seemed to work. We did all of the 5 S's, we changed her dirty diapers, but we could only calm her down for a few seconds or minutes if we were lucky! It was so sad to see our little girl so frustrated and fussy. She even had real tears! It was seriously the saddest thing ever, and it definitely tried our patience for a solid 8 hours! She finally fell asleep from 7:05 to 7:45 this morning, but she woke up fussy again! During this sleep period when we thought everything was better, I went to the restroom only to come back to Kyle holding up Baby K with a big spot of poo on her back. I told Kyle that she had a blowout, and he said, "I know, it went through her the comforter, the sheets, and onto me!" Que triste! Finally, around 10 this morning she was able to get a good feeding and has taken a good two hour nap. This was a very scary night because we couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. I found out that my nephew got very fussy after my sis-in-law ate broccoli when she was first breastfeeding, and lo and behold, I had lots of broccoli for dinner last night! We are assuming, and hoping, that this was the culprit and reasoning behind Kelsey's fussiness. It's a little scary to be breastfeeding and always wondering if what you're eating is affecting your baby and making them fussy. There are so many foods that can supposedly affect the milk and make your baby fussy and gassy. I guess we all learn from trial and error! Needless to say, I will not be eating broccoli for a while, and hopefully Kelsey will sleep better at night again.

Megan and Kyle!
That is muy triste. Way to survive though and figure out what might have caused her grief. We miss you!
I am so sorry! I'm glad you were able to pinpoint broccoli--hopefully avoiding it now will help. (Curt was very jealous when he found that out; he would love any excuse to not have to eat his broccoli!) We miss you guys and hope things are going well! Please post pictures whenever you can!
And yes, Curt is taking full advantage of the theater before the new renters move in. He already had a Mario Kart party last week, and I think he's down there more than he is upstairs now! (Not really, but he's loving it!) :)
Wow, what an adventure! !@#$ broccoli... It'll get you every time... =)
