Am I Done Yet?

Kyle and I have been attending a prenatal class at the hospital. Last week we played a game, and of course we won, so we got a baby blanket for a prize. We felt pretty special. We played a second game and won again, but they decided we couldn't win two prizes, so they gave it to another couple. Oh well,at least we know who the real winners are! Later that night we were blessed with (or frightened by) the opportunity to watch four births on video. This one lady kept pushing and pushing, and then she would ask, "Am I done yet?" Let me tell ya, it was clear from our perspective that she was nowhere near done! The baby's head was barely crowning. Then she would push some more and ask again, "Am I done yet?" I felt so bad for her. She had so much more work to do, but she thought it was all over.

Well, I feel like I am definitely getting to the point where I just want to be done with this whole pregnancy thing. Don't get me wrong, I have more than enjoyed the entertainment of unsolicited advice from strangers and the extreme discomfort while trying to sleep. (Yes, that was slightly sarcastic. Of course there are many "interesting" things that come with pregnancy.) Actually, I think being pregnant is truly amazing, and my favorite part is feeling our little girl inside of me. She already has such a little personality! And it is so cute when Kyle puts his head on my belly to listen for the heartbeat. I had an appointment today, and everything is still looking good, but by all means am I ready for this to be over. When I tell people I have a month left, they say they can't believe I "only" have that much longer. I have to say, though, when it is your body, it feels like a lot longer! We are definitely hoping that our little girl will decide to come a little early, but we won't really know how I've progressed until my next appointment in 2 weeks.
