Good Find!

For those of you looking for a graduation present or simply have the urge to spend your economic stimulus on some electronics, I have just the thing for you. We've been looking at getting a new digital camera, so I started looking online for discounts, coupons, and any kind of deals at Best Buy and came across an old post that expired some time ago. Here's the link: https://moversguide.usps.com/img/coupon/bestbuy/200801_clientarea.gif

10% is not a bad discount when you're considering buying something that's close to $1000 so I started to pay close attention to this coupon. Notice anything wrong with the coupon? Ya, the expiration date is 2/29/08. Being the clever individual that I am, I noticed the URL--specifically the part that shows "200801". Using my knowledge and deductive reasoning that only comes with a degree from BYU, I understood the "2008" to be the year 2008, and "01" to be my birthday month of January. Sooooo...I sneakily manipulated the URL and changed the "01" to "04" and presto! A fresh coupon with a new expiration date!!! I was so proud of myself and the education I'd received to be able to figure that out. Not sure what Megan's gunna say about this post but enjoy it while you can!

BTW, I checked and it looks like the USPS has been doing it this way for the past year so I don't imagine it changing anytime soon. So keep updating the month and you should be good to go. :) Bookmark the page or do it the PC way and add it as one of your "favorites".

I'm so proud of you Kyle! Good thing you had already graduated, otherwise you probably wouldn't have figured that out. Did you learn that in your Coupon Manipulation class?

That's amazing man! Are you sure you graduated in marketing and not computer science? =) Hey, I also noted that in the fine print the cash value of the coupon is 1/100th of a cent. So, does that mean if we print off...oh, say 10 million of those things that we could take them to Best Buy for a nice $1000 redeemable value? LOL. Maybe we can further change the link to make them worth 1 cent or something... The possibilities are endless, man! Keep up the good work! Haha.
