Round 2

I hadn't uploaded these pictures from my camera when I did the last post, so here you go!

Kelsey thought it was so fun to give Daddy a haircut!

Round 2 of Chemo went better than the first time. The nurse was able to get Kyle's IV in the first try, and neither of us needed juice this time afterwards, so that was a plus! We also got the drugs after only 1 hour instead of 3 hours the first time, so that was a major blessing! So, here are some pics (from our phone-so not impeccable quality) of our 6 hours there. Nothing like a Friday night spent in the depressing basement for chemo infusions! :)

Here is Kyle after he got his IV in and now just waiting for the drugs. Notice his buzzed head--the nurse said if he didn't lose his hair in the first 2 weeks, he wouldn't lose it, so we shall see if that really is the case. But, in the meantime, Kyle is liking the easy maintenance!

Had to show some proof that I am there too alongside my handsome and brave hubby!

One of the drugs (Dacarbazine, for those who care) started giving Kyle an intense burning sensation all up his arm. I had to run to get the nurse so she could slow the IV down, and she also got a warm towel to help soothe. Never a dull moment!

Kyle on a conference call for work.

And here I am trying to get cozy. I mean seriously, patients' loved ones need recliners too!

Kyle had a rougher first night just feeling very achey and tired, but he has been doing pretty well since. He is just tired and nauseous, so he takes nausea medicine to help, but the more nausea medicine makes him more tired! It's a vicious cycle!

Thanks for all of your support! We are hanging in there!
