Appointment #2

Baby does NOT want to come! We just got back from another appointment, and there has been virtually no progress. The baby and I are both good and healthy, which is the most important part, but she seriously needs to come soon! Baby is just swimming around having a good time inside me. Baby was moving around so much, the doctor couldn't even get a steady heart beat at first. He says the baby is just average size, probably between 7 and 7 1/2 pounds. At least for now she's not taking after her dad in that sense. (Kyle was almost 10 pounds and 24 inches long! No way is a baby that size coming out of me!)

We asked the doctor about the possibility of being induced because of when my mom is coming in town, but obviously with my current status, there is no way they would induce me because it would most likely end up in a C-section. Sorry Mom, unless she decides she wants to come soon, you may have to change your flight and work schedule! So, normally I would have my next appointment on Wednesday, but they are going to check me on Monday to see if anything changes. If I have, then we can begin to talk about being induced. Honestly, I don't want to be induced  because it seems like it makes labor more laborious! Let's all pray that baby will just come on her own in a quick manner! Obviously no two women's bodies are the same. Some people stay dilated to a 3 for several weeks before they deliver, while others aren't dilated at all one day, and go into labor the next! (Doesn't that sound nice? Maybe I will follow the latter option!) Also, my Strep B test came back negative, so I don't need to worry about having an antibiotic during labor.

Well, that's all for now folks. I'll have some more updates on Monday!

I'm so sorry you haven't had much progress! :( We'll all keep our fingers crossed that things will change soon! I'm glad everything looks healthy, though. Maybe you should start doing all those things that "supposedly" put you into labor? It couldn't hurt! :)

Megan,

You do not need any advice, but a week before I had Moriah, I played volleyball with my niece and nephews. I was jumping around. I remember the next day I was a bit sore in my pelvis area. I think that helped me progress, but I could be completely delusional. Before that, I did not have any progress really. I think I was only effaced a bit, but no dilation. I hope all is going well. I miss you!

Thanks for the advice Driel! I have since been hiking, golfing, frisbeeing, croqueting, and playing a little volleyball. If I haven't progressed by now, I'm pretty sure she's just gonna stay inside me forever!
