Well folks, I turned the big 22 yesterday! I know, I'm getting SO old--wrinkles and all! Just wanted to share a little bit about my special day.
First of all, I did not sleep very well that night, but it was ok because I slept in a little bit. I figured it would be my last birthday for a while that I would be able to do that. Anyway, I was brought a deluxe breakfast in bed. Kyle went all out and cooked bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits. I was so impressed he was able to cook all of that at the same time and have everything warm! He worked so hard. After breakfast, I just got ready for the day and got treated to lunch at Fuddruckers by my dear friends Driel and Melissa. They both have precious little girls, so I felt like I was already part of a mom's club or something. We had tons of fun catching up and eating delicious food! Thanks again you guys!
After lunch, I was having a lot of back pain, so I had to lie down in bed with a heating pad. Once I started feeling better, Kyle and I decided to go across the street and play a round of bowling. We were absolutely terrible! Let's just say that we both started out with double gutter balls, and our combined score was 149! (Although, I must humbly add that I beat Kyle by 15 points!) I think we were both having ball issues. We struggled because we didn't want to get balls that were too heavy, but the lighter balls didn't fit our fingers! It was a big dilemma. We kept switching back and forth, but we just needed something in between. Nevertheless, we had lots of fun laughing at how bad we were!
After bowling, Kyle grilled some BBQ chicken drumsticks, and we had corn, mashed potatoes, and fruit salad for sides. It was very delicious. Then, Kyle made me a birthday cake all by himself! He frosted it and everything! We had some good friends over for Funfetti cake and three flavors of ice cream! It was really fun to hang out with everyone, even though we threw the gathering together last minute. We were hoping that we would be in the hospital, so we hadn't made any birthday plans until the day before. Well, that is my "Golden Year" birthday in a nutshell. I will post some pictures later, but I am too lazy right now!

I'm glad Kyle was so good to you--husbands are so wonderful! It was fun to help you celebrate and eat the delicious cake he made! Even though I'm sure you would have rather been celebrating in the hospital with a new baby, it seems like the day went pretty well. At least you don't have to worry about sharing your birthday now! :) By the way, thank you so much for your nice comment on our blog about the apartment. We really are going to miss you guys, and we wish you could stay!
